Short Version
That Drop App is designed to be local-first. The app does not sell your personal information, does not use advertising trackers, and does not upload your files to us for normal app features.
Most app data stays on your Mac. We receive limited information only when needed for direct purchases, license activation and validation, support, direct app updates, website operation, or Setapp distribution.
Information Processed Locally On Your Mac
That Drop App may store or process the following locally:
- shelves, shelf names, shelf colors, icons, file references, file bookmarks, open or hidden shelf state, and tuck/window state;
- files or file copies you add to shelves;
- presets and settings for archive export, batch rename, flatten-to-folder, conversion, favorites, screenshot routing, hotkeys, appearance, and app behavior;
- selected output folders and security-scoped bookmarks for folders you choose;
- screenshot-folder settings if you enable screenshot routing;
- local direct-license state, such as the signed entitlement, installation identity, and email hint;
- local app logs or macOS Console logs that may include file names, paths, errors, app state, or diagnostic messages.
This local data is used to make the app work and remember your preferences. It is not automatically uploaded to us.
You can remove local app data by deleting the app’s stored files from your Mac, including data in ~/Library/Application Support/ThatDropApp, related app preferences, and related Keychain items. Removing local data may delete shelves, presets, settings, license state, and file copies stored by the app.
Files You Use With The App
That Drop App processes files you choose, drop into the app, send through the macOS Finder service, route through screenshot automation, or select through macOS file/folder pickers.
The app may copy files into local shelf storage, create archives, rename files, flatten folders, convert supported media, create previews, read metadata, or write output files. These operations happen locally on your Mac during normal use. We do not receive the contents of your files unless you intentionally send files to us for support.
Direct Purchase And License Information
If you buy or activate the direct-download version, we may collect and process:
- email address used for purchase, fulfillment, support, or license activation;
- license type, license ID, license key hash or masked license key details, entitlement status, update eligibility, nightly or beta access, installation limits, and purchase/fulfillment reference data;
- activation, validation, and deactivation history;
- installation ID, installation public key, app version, app build, update channel, machine name, request timestamp, request signature, IP address, and user agent;
- support messages and any information you choose to send us.
We use this information to issue licenses, activate the app, prevent license abuse, enforce installation limits, provide updates, provide support, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
The direct-license system does not require us to store your full license key in ordinary order metadata. Full payment card details are handled by payment processors, not by That Drop App.
Setapp Version
If you use That Drop App through Setapp, Setapp manages access, activation, app delivery, billing where applicable, and app updates. That access may be through a single-app purchase, individual app subscription, Setapp Membership, or another Setapp-supported model. We do not receive your Setapp password or full payment information.
The Setapp version uses the Setapp Framework to support access status, release notes, updates, and usage reporting required for Setapp distribution. Usage reporting may include app launch, termination, activation, deactivation, heartbeat, and menu-bar interaction events as handled by Setapp. Setapp may use this information to manage access, developer statistics, revenue, and platform operations according to Setapp’s own policies.
Website, Updates, And Server Logs
When you visit our website, download the app, check for direct updates, or contact our license/update infrastructure, servers may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser or app user agent, request URL, date and time, referring page, download/update request details, and basic security logs.
The direct-download version may contact our update feed to check for updates. The Setapp version is updated through Setapp.
macOS, Setapp, or other distribution platforms may collect crash reports or diagnostics according to your device settings and their own policies. We only receive those reports if a platform makes them available to us or if you send them to us for support.
Payment And Fulfillment Providers
Direct purchases may be processed through our website, WooCommerce, payment processors, email providers, hosting providers, and related fulfillment tools. These providers process information needed to complete your purchase, deliver receipts, deliver license information, prevent fraud, and provide customer support.
Setapp single-app purchases, individual app subscriptions, Setapp Membership billing, and related payment processing are handled by Setapp or its payment providers.
